RÜTD is product design studio with the mission to connect soul with nature through craftsmanship, woodworking and the ancient technique of macrame.

The brand originally began in 2019, when founder, Ry Smith, set her sights on creating ‘root structures’ out of textiles. It was then she discovered macrame and saw its underutilisation and lack of innovation since it’s height in the 70’s. This created a spiral into years of experiments creating apparel and home decor with this technique.

It wasn’t until 2023, that RÜTD re-emerged with a refined intention and aesthetic. Since then, RÜTD has collaborated with Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Classic Remix and dressed WNBA star, Kelsey Plum. Today, RÜTD is more inspired than ever build products that make people feel ‘rooted’ in whatever form that endeavour may take.
